SPY OPS, LLC, a long-standing landmark within the City of Lathrup Village, announced today that it intends to relocate to the City of Southfield by the beginning of next year.
“This was a logical choice for us,” said Samuel Cummings, Vice President and General Manager. “SPY OPS has outgrown its home it’s called for 29 years, and it’s time to spread our wings wider.”
“With the move to the City of Southfield, SPY OPS will have over 120 feet of counter space, a show room four times the size of the old show room. We also have a 12 student class room for private lessons on trade craft. Next to the CIA, SPY OPS is the largest spy shop in the world!” said Little Bear, owner of SPY OPS.
“We have amazing things for the people to see that they can only otherwise see online. The online experience doesn’t give a potential end-user the ability to test out the product for themselves, or become familiar with its working before committing to purchase it with an expert in the field,” continued Little Bear.
“Spy stuff, especially spy stuff that works, isn’t always the cheapest thing you’ll invest in. You want to be sure you’re investing in a good, quality product. This is why we exist. It allows you to see, touch, feel and experiment with items before you buy them,” he continued.
SPY OPS originally opened as “The Spy Shack,” at its current location in 1994. Reorganized in 2002 to become SPY OPS, in the preceding three decades, has become a landmark location for those visiting the area. With its relocation to Southfield Commons at 29207 Southfield Road, Southfield, MI 48076 to be completed in the next several weeks, SPY OPS plans to expand its showroom to twice its current size, offering an open, friendly environment to experience, learn and witness the arts and sciences of surveillance, counter-surveillance and counter-intelligence. A nationally recognized expert in those fields, SPY OPS has positioned itself to become a name trusted in the surveillance community, among law enforcement, private investigators and the public at-large.
